Vietnam made 31 million pairs of leather shoe in October, according reports in local press – 12% more than in same month last year.
The volume for the year to date is around 250 million pairs, around the same figure as last year.
Generally, footwear production for the year is down around 10%, with export turnover put at $13.4 billion, according to trade associations quoted in the Vietnam Net News.
The country has recently signed a trade agreement with Europe, and this is expected to boost the footwear and handbag-making industry in 2021.
