A delegation of the SME Foundation of Bangladesh, led by its Chairman Dr. Md Masudur Rahman, met and interacted with the leather product manufacturers and entrepreneurs recently even as of the 177 recognised clusters of different businesses, the foundation arranged meeting with those involved with the leather industry, in Hazaribagh.
According to reports, the initiatives taken by the SME Foundation for the development of the leather industry include making available low-interest loan; regular views exchange meetings with similar businesses and facilitating participation in expos and fairs at home and abroad.
As per a press release issued by the SME Foundation, more than 400 shops, showrooms and small leather goods factories have been set up in various locations in Hazaribagh and adjacent areas, from which export-quality shoes, bags and corporate leather products are being manufactured and sold in local and global markets, with an annual turnover of around Taka 50-60 crore.
