From January to April 2025, the sales revenue of key tanneries in China reached 17 billion RMB, decreasing by 8.7% year-on-year.

During this period, imports of raw hides and skins totaled 497,000 tons in quantity and USD 0.42 billion in value, decreasing by 3.0% and 12.4% respectively. 224,000 tons of semi-finished leather were imported, bringing in an increase of 14.9%, imports were valued at USD 0.33 billion, decreasing by 3.6% year-on-year. Imports of finished leather were 12,000 tons in quantity, valued at USD 0.18 billion, decreasing by 12.2% and 19.9% respectively year-on-year.
