Bangladeshi leather exports saw an improvement in February 2025, led by footwear, according to the latest data from the Export Promotion Bureau.

In February 2025, exports of leather and leather products were up 11.62% year-on-year to US$88.47 million. Meanwhile, exports for the period of July 2024 to February 2025 were up 8.48% to US$757.5 million.
Exports of leather alone were up 3.84% in February to US$11.09 million but down by 8.68% in the fiscal year so far to US$84.84 million. Exports of leather products saw a drop of 1.55% in the month to US$29.86 million and were down 8.29% in the year so far to US$221.78 million.
Leather footwear exports had growth of 24.27% in February 2025 to US$47.52 million, while the year so far saw an increase of 24.02% to US$450.88 million. Finally, other footwear exports grew by 23.9% in the month to US$44.74 million and 32.85% in the year to US$362.83 million.
