After a strong March, Bangladeshi leather exports had a much weaker April, according to the latest data from the Export Promotion Bureau.

In April 2025, exports of leather and leather products were up 12.19% year-on-year to US$80.52 million. Meanwhile, exports for the period of July 2024 to April 2025 were up 10.08% to US$932.53 million.
Exports of leather alone were down 26.7% in April to US$8.21 million and dropped 8.24% in the fiscal year so far to US$107.61 million. Exports of leather products saw a decline of 4.34% in the month to US$23.13 million and were down 5.97% in the year so far to US$279.57 million.
Leather footwear exports had growth of 35.18% in March 2025 to US$49.18 million, while the year so far saw an increase of 26.1% to US$545.35 million. Finally, other footwear exports grew by 2.77% in the month to US$31.53 million and 31.32% in the year to US$446.21 million.
