Japan’s leather and leathergoods industry association (JLIA) is to commemorate the official launch of the Thinking Leather Action website with a special lottery, at the 106th Tokyo Leather Fair taking place from December 7 – 8.

The Thinking Leather Action (TLA) initiative is dedicated to promoting the sustainability of leather and leather products. JLIA expressed their position and goal was not to discredit or diminish the value of other materials but that the website provides valuable information on why leather is a sustainable material, and encourages users to share knowledge to raise awareness. Official support for the event comes from the country’s ministry of economy, trade and industry, the Japan Leather and Leathergoods Industries Association and Italian exhibition Lineapelle.
