Last week, UNIC – Italian Tanneries was the guest of the Global Apparel Conference 2024 held from 20 to 22 November in Humen Town (Dongguan, Guangdong).

The event was organised by the China National Textile and Apparel Council. Title of this edition: Collaboration for a Win-Win Future. In the heart of a production district oriented – in particular – towards mid-range fashion, Fulvia Bacchi, general manager of UNIC, brought the testimony of Italian tanning to the Green Innovation for a Sustainable Future forum.
The role of reshaping
“This forum provided an in-depth analysis of the critical role of reshaping in industrial restructuring and strategic corporate realignment”, explained the organisers. “The forum emphasised the need for the concept of coexistence to maintain ecological balance, improve social benefits and strengthen international cooperation”.
The case history of Italian leather
In this context, the case history of Italian leather found fertile ground in stimulating the interest of the audience. “It allowed us, in particular”, explained Bacchi, “to highlight how Italian tannery has an innovative green vision, oriented towards the continuous improvement of its performance”.
