Deckers-owned brand Hoka is introducing the latest evolution of its Mafate trail running shoe, first launched 15 years ago at the famed Mont-Blanc ultra trail. The new Mafate X is said to deliver unparalleled comfort, stability and performance. It features a forked carbon fibre plate that ‘cradles the foot for a consistent, stable ride over long distances’.
Its signature maximalist cushioning is made from a super critically foamed EVA sole with PEBA top layer. The woven upper offers breathability, quick drainage and a gusseted tongue for a secure fit. The Vibram outsole adapts to varied terrain thanks to what is described as ‘playful taco-and-pizza-slices-shaped lugs’.
Suggest retail price is €225.
