ABSTRACT
CSR – Corporate Social Responsibility was and partly still remains to be seen as an add-on, a kind of “nice to have” and mostly charity-like approach for businesses to improve their surficial image in the public. However, today’s buyers’ expectations are changing dramatically driven by easy access to information and the subsequently growing comparability of goods and services. Whereas price is a rather easy determinable factor, the term quality gets more complex the deeper one looks into it. So what is the “DNA of Quality” and how it evolves? And further on, how does it influence the scope of business compliance? Integrated CSR could become the key for success. Once having the holistic approach internalized and the multidimensional nature of CSR and Compliance understood let’s go on a journey! Let’s follow the vivid life of a simple pair of nice leather shoe – from cradle to grave. We will have a look at raw materials, transport, workplaces, marketing-strategies, disposal, retail etc. You will be surprised how many impacts and responsibilities we discover which finally bear great opportunities to become more competitive and successful as a credible company.
