Turkish sales from shoe exports to Libya totaled $16.4 million, showing the highest increase in exports in the sector, by 122.9 percent during the first quarter of this fiscal year.
According to the Turkish Anadolu Agency, Libya is ranked fifth among Turkish shoe importers, following Italy at $16.8 million.
The top importers of Turkish shoes were Russia with $25.8 million, Germany with $25.7 million, and Spain with $17.9 million.
Barka Egten, president of the association of shoe manufacturers of Turkey, said the Russian-Ukrainian war led to an increase in demand for Turkish shoes.
In the same context, Libya was among the top importers of Turkish home furniture during the first quarter, along with the US, Germany, and France, according to the Istanbul federation of furniture, paper, and forest products exporters data.
