According to customs statistics, China’s import and export of goods in the first quarter of 2022 was 9.42 trillion yuan, an increase of 10.7% year-on-year. Exports accounted for 5.23 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.4%. Imports were 4.19 trillion yuan, an increase of 7.5%.” Li Kuiwen, spokesman of the General Administration of Customs and director of the Statistics and Analysis Department, presented the figures at a press conference held by the State Information Office.
The export of major categories of products maintained a good trend. Among the statistics reported, the export of labor-intensive products was 900.05 billion yuan. This was an increase of 10.9%, of which the exports of luggage, shoes and toys increased by 24%, 20.4% and 16.9% respectively.
