Parameters for the competition are to design a single item made from at least 50% leather.
The item can be a piece of clothing, footwear or an accessory. The aim is to encourage designers of the future to develop a relationship with leather by working with it and so recognise its qualities.
Judges for the Nordic regional round are Helena Waker, chief executive of Stockholm Fashion District, Marja-Liisa Niinikoski, managing director of Finnish Textile & Fashion and award-winning Danish fashion designer and consultant, Jens Laugesen.
The regional winner will have the winning design professionally made and showcased at the international final to be held during London Fashion Week on September 15.
