Performance foam manufacturer Dahsheng Chemical (DSC) is celebrating its 80th anniversary with the launch of Durapontex eN35, a new insole material designed for high-impact sports.
Developed using supercritical fluid foaming technology, the insole is engineered to provide high energy return while remaining lightweight and fully recyclable.
The manufacturing process uses gases like carbon dioxide or nitrogen under high pressure and temperature to create a foam structure with evenly distributed microscopic bubbles. According to DSC, this design enhances cushioning, responsiveness, and durability, making it suitable for sports such as basketball, volleyball, and tennis. The insole is intended to maintain its structural integrity under stress while delivering consistent performance.
DSC refined the material through its Athlete Engagement Program at the Portland Track Festival, where participants tested the foam’s comfort, durability, and energy return. The company states that the feedback from athletes played a key role in optimising the final product.
