The Argentine government repealed Resolution 537/1992, which established the formula for calculating export duties on bovine hides, based on the Chicago market price, plus a fixed amount in dollars. The measure extinguishes a system that, in practice, inhibited exports of salted and wet blue skins that favored the local industry.
The repeal aims to boost Argentine exports by simplifying and reducing bureaucracy in customs procedures, in addition to eliminating taxes.
