Brazilian meatpackers are not expecting a significant impact from potential new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump.
The Brazilian Association of Beef Exporters (ABIEC) said that exports outside of a 65,000-ton annual quota already receive a 26.4% tariff.
Brazil exported US$1.3 billion in beef to the U.S. in 2024, 230,000 tons of fresh and processed meat with an improvement of 66% year-on-year.
The U.S. is the second-largest destination for Brazilian beef after China and the ABIEC says that this will not change with the Trump administration.
